Solarsilk is a small Flash development shop with big skills. We make up for our small size with our vast experience working on global brands, with global ad agencies, on high profile projects. Our ideal form of engagement is to team up with world-class designers at ad agencies and creative shops, bringing their designs to life. We like to concentrate all of our efforts on doing the most solid and flexible Flash programming possible, while solving any and all technical hurdles that arise.

Flash Development

Flash is our core strength. We’ve been in the agency world, working on Flash-based projects for more than 10 years. From banners to full microsites, from rich media to backend script integration, from XML-driven content to Augmented Reality, from Papervision to video, we’ve been around the Flash block a few times. We work entirely in Actionscript 3, using standard OOP techniques that make the code cleaner, allowing updates and modular additions to be made more quickly.

Backend Development

A secondary strength is our backend server script development capabilities. We are versed in both php and asp.NET. Our focus with these technologies is on all things Flash-related: Send To Friend scripts, image uploading from Flash, dynamic XML generation from a database, etc. We also have built several light CMS systems, to manage Flash content. Our team members have worked on large-scale Facebook applications based in asp.NET.

Frontend Development

We’re also well versed in HTML, CSS and Javascript, if you’re planning a static site. We code cross-browser HTML and CSS quickly and flawlessly. An HTML site can utilize dynamic content from a backend database and other sources.

Technical Consultation

Additionally, we’re available to advise clients on general technical Flash-based project planning. If you’re approaching a new project and need some guidance on how best to implement a certain site feature, or even if you need a technical perspective on a pie-in-the-sky Flash idea, we’re happy to chat with you about it. We love getting into a project early on to help brainstorm ideas and help develop the creative to be the best it can be.
